RIDERS:

Josh Weinstien

I was inspired to ride the Cycle of Karma aka Boulder Peace Ride by  the example of Sakyong Mipjam Rinpoche running 9 fundraising marathons  to rebuild Surmang, his father's monastery in Tibet. I love to  mountain bike and I love the dharma and when they come together it
becomes even more powerful for me.

I was a neighbor of Josh and Elizabeth for about 10 years and designed their house.  I've been riding a some level for about 30 years and focusing on road rides with a multi day boys ride in the summer to top it off. So I get extra credit for this..

Josh Weinstein on the Ride:

"Dear Friends,  I am planning to ride the CYCLE OF KARMA from Boulder to Shambhala Mountain Center again this year.  The ride is a pilgrimage to the GREAT STUPA OF DHARMAKAYA and a fundraiser in support of Shambhala Mountain Center's Pure Land Pure Water Pure Heart Campaign and the Konchok Foundation's campaign to rebuild Surmang monastery and school.

Shambhala Mountain Center and Surmang monastery have and will continue to work tirelessly to increase wisdom and compassion in the world.  I think the power in our ride is not that we can raise huge amounts of money as much as  it is a statement of how much we want goodness to be expressed in our world.

The more sponsors I can get the greater our statement becomes and the amount of money is secondary to the statement itself.  To this end please help me get lots of sponsors to make as big a statement as we can. ...  The ride is 280 miles and I would ask people to contribute $.01, $.10, or $1.00 per mile to the KONCHOK FOUNDATION  who will split the proceeds with Shambhala Mountain Center.

Thanks so much for your support and generosity, I will need it and the world needs it.  Follow the daily blog September 10-17  at www.vagabondranch.org
